Staying Still And Trusting God Without Any Reservations

Staying Still And Trusting God Without Any Reservations

Most of us during our own daily life battles we  lay down our weapons and trust God for the victory, believing it will come in His perfect timing and according to His perfect plan. In the meantime, He tells us to rest in Him and “let go of your fears and concerns!”

Normally, we nod in agreement even as we hang on to those concerns with both hands. Questions  like  If we don’t fret over our children’s future, who will? If we don’t worry about our parents’ health, who will? If we don’t agonize over life’s disappointments, big and small, who will?

He will! That’s what God wants us to understand.Only when we stop moving and stop striving can we recognize the truth about God: He is in control.

No matter how crazy our world gets — and it’s definitely getting crazier by the minute — God is still in His heaven, and His good and perfect will is certain to prevail.

When our verse continues, “know that I am God” (Psalm 46:10a), He’s reminding us who He is and what He can do. The creator of all things — including all humanity — knows how to calm our hearts, ease our minds and guide our lives in the right direction.

In the meantime, our calling is simple. Be still. Believe in Him without any reservations. Be ready.

If you are familiar with the Bible at all, you may know that the 11th chapter of Hebrews is called “The Hall of Faith.” In there are some of the greatest names of the Bible that everyone in the world has heard of either from Sunday School, church, or the movies - names like Abraham, Moses, Samson, and others. This is a catalogue of people who had great faith in God and trusted Him and His promises completely in everything. This chapter also defines the word “faith.”

Following that is a library of names who have illustrated faith and what they did in particular. In these verses is buried one of the great statements of the Bible that every person on earth should memorize because it tells how a human being relates to the Creator of this universe and the Judge of the world.

How do you give it to God, surrender control and let Him navigate the roads in the course of your life? Jesus, take the wheel makes a good song, but to give all the trials of life to God and trusting Him in those difficult times is often easier said than done!

Most of us have heard the saying ‘let go and let God do his work’ but HOW do you let God be in control when you are going through a mess and every fiber of your being wants to hold onto the wheel?

We were in our own personal wilderness with God leading the way, except we were too busy looking at where we THOUGHT we should be heading instead of looking for where God was leading us!

We often hear this saying (and the song!), but do we truly live it? It is often as though we are on this road trip with God behind the wheel. Sometimes we feel that God is leading us to a certain road that we don't want to take. We are only humans and sometimes we can’t help it but to question HIS will for us

Then we arrive where God is leading and it is the most beautiful destination! It is better than anything we could have imagined!! And if God had granted our wishes and turned down any of those detours, we wouldn’t be in the wonderful place we are now.

Trust God without any reservations

It means that, just like in giving something to another person you have to take your hands off of it and let them take control of it, you need to do the same with God. Hand it over and surrender it to Him and stop trying to keep it under YOUR control. Surrender everything to HIM

What does it mean to surrender to God?

It is the giving up or yielding to the “power” to Him and abandoning yourself ENTIRELY to Him!

Still unsure?

This is the type of surrender you’d typically see in war movies or police films where someone gives themself up to either the enemy or to the authorities, whichever the case may be.

And God laid it on my heart above all else that when we seek to do things OUR way and when we take it upon ourselves to instruct God on how He should handle our situation, we actually treat Him like an opponent because we don’t trust Him to handle our problem the way we deem acceptable.

We act as if He is our enemy rather than our Father, our Friend, our Savior! Jesus gave Himself up on a cross for us and yet somehow we doubt He has our best at heart! So what does it mean to surrender to God? It means giving up! It means waving the white flag and saying “here am I, send me!”

It means letting go of the wheel and giving it to God! It means going straight to Him in prayer and in His Word and trusting that He is who He says He is!

Trusting God through good times and especially in bad time

Trust that God is in control and He has a plan! No matter what you THINK may look good, God has better. What we THINK we want may only scratch the surface of the wonderful things God has in store!! Let Him handle it!

Trusting God in difficult times really shouldn’t be something to fear !! He’s got you!! He is in control! So take the map YOU brought on the trip and hand it over to Him and don’t just let Jesus take the wheel, let Him do the navigating as well! Letting God lead the way is the best option to get to where you want to go! He knows the roads far better than you!!

Psalm 46:10-11 “Be still, and know that I am God! I will be honored by every nation. I will be honored throughout the world.” The LORD of Heaven’s Armies is here among us; the God of Israel is our fortress.
